British Hard Rock legends UFO will release their new studio album "Seven Deadly" on February 24th in Germany, February 27th in Europe and in March 2012 in the USA/Canada through SPV / Steamhammer.

Melted Space est un projet créé en 2007 par le pianiste et compositeur Pierre Le Pape (Wormfood, Embryonic Cells). Influencé par le métal, la musique de film ou des musiques plus électroniques, il tente de créer une musique mélangeant tout cela et pose alors les premières fondations d'un «monde» étrange: Melted Space! Un monde qui serait la dernière étape de Dante dans son voyage, un monde peuplé d'âmes perdues et oubliées, racontant leurs aventures au voyageur. Tombés dans l'oubli, c'est pour eux la seule façon de perpétuer leur souvenir.
Le 1er album instrumental et assez synthétique, « There's a place », sort en 2009 en auto-production. Un univers aux milles facettes s'offre à nous. Le décors est planté, sombre, ténébreux et chargé d'Histoire et les souvenirs de Dante, du Pendule de Foucault et du Soleil nous guident lors de cette première visite.
Parallèlement, Pierre se lance dans la composition d'un second opus résolument plus métal et symphonique. Cet album fait la part belle aux grandes orchestrations, aux guitares énergiques et au chant.
Sous la forme d'un opéra métal (le 1er du genre en France), il nous amène dans un village de fous! Ici vivent des dieux, ceux de l'Olympe. Leur dérive les a conduits dans le Melted Space, certains y ont trouvé ce qu'ils cherchaient, d'autres n'y ont découvert que l'amertume des regrets.
A la nuit tombée, la belle lune Séléné fait son apparition et nous conte son amour tragique. Un combat entre la raison et la passion...
Enfin une plainte se fait entendre par delà les montagnes, Lucifer crie son regret et sa soif de vengeance. Bien décidé à reprendre sa place, il fait appel à ses fidèles serviteurs afin d'obtenir leur aide dans sa quête de pouvoir. Tout le monde ne l'entend pas forcément de cette oreille.
Pour donner vie à cette grande fresque, Pierre s'est entouré de 26 chanteuses, chanteurs et musiciens provenant de groupes tels que Hacride, Destinity, Kells, Svart Crown, Otargos, Phazm, Gorod... Chacun s'est beaucoup investi dans son rôle, apportant beaucoup de relief à son personnage ou à sa partie instrumentale. Le résultat donne une série de rencontres inattendues, puissantes, rares... La crème du métal Français réunie dans un univers terrifiant et néanmoins grandiose.
La production a été confiée aux soins et à l'expérience d'Axel Wursthorn(Carnival in Coal, Wormfood...) et Franck Hueso(Hacride, Klone...). Une rencontre qui a pour résultat un son puissant donnant toujours plus d'amplitude à ce projet très ambitieux.
Melted Space s'ouvre à nouveau pour livrer ses secrets, vous qui écoutez, abandonnez tout espoir et laissez-vous guider...

In other APHNDnews, the band has parted ways with guitarist Bobby Hambel, and has announced a replacement. Frontman Sal Abruscato commented about the lineup change.

“Due to conflicting schedules with Biohazard, Bobby Hambel is unable to tour any further with A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH. We wish Bobby and Biohazard all the great success they deserve on their upcoming release in January 2012. Eddie Heedles has been chosen as the new replacement for Bobby. Eddie is a shredding guitarist who has worked with the likes of Corey Glover (Living Colour), T.M. Stevens, Vernon Reid (Living Colour), Sekond Skyn and The White Chocolate Experience.”

LITA FORD SIGNS TO SPV/STEAMHAMMER. NEW ALBUM TITLE REVEALED
Legendary female metal icon LITA FORD has signed a worldwide deal with SPV/Steamhammer. Her new album entitled “Living Like A Runaway” is tentatively set for a May 2012 release.
Best known for her work with The Runaways and her solo career, featuring hit singles “Kiss Me Deadly” and the Billboard charting duet “Close My Eyes Forever” with Ozzy Osbourne, Lita is ready to make a return to the throne as the queen of metal: “SPV gets who I am, my work, and what it takes to bring this project to life. I’m very excited to have them on my team,” says Lita.
Lita spoke about her work with guitarist Gary Hoey on the album and the meaning of the album’s title: “Gary Hoey and I wanted to approach this record by getting back to basics. We want to strip away all the electronics and plug-ins and keep it to vocals, guitar, bass, and drums. Going back to basics is going back to what punk, metal and The Runways was for me. “Living Like A Runaway" means freedom and empowerment. God Forbid has announced two northeast area headlining shows to celebrate completion of their forthcoming album.
Guitarist Doc Coyle says of the band’s desire to play shows, “With only one show in 2011 and 2 months spent in the recording studio, we have been itching to get out and play. We thought it would be a great idea to get into an intimate setting in our area for the real GF fans. Expect to hear some new songs and some old cuts that haven’t played in awhile. 2012 will be a great year!”

Premier éditeur indépendant de bande dessinée sur le marché français, le Groupe Delcourt (Éditions Delcourt, Soleil, Tonkam) a également été le premier acteur majeur du secteur à proposer ses ouvrages sur l’iBookstore d’Apple, dès décembre dernier.

Riche d’une centaine de titres, l’offre numérique du Groupe s’étoffe mensuellement d’une trentaine d’ouvrages (nouveautés et fonds). Elle comprend des séries phares telles que Le Chant des Stryges, Le Crépuscule des Dieux, Noob, Okko, Les P’tits Diables ou Walking Dead, dont le nouveau tome paru le 15 février s’est classé 6e des meilleures ventes de livres sur cette plate-forme.

Le Groupe Delcourt a confié la distribution numérique de son catalogue à Hachette Livre, son distributeur de livres physiques, ce qui garantit la cohérence du travail effectué sur les deux supports : dates de mise en vente synchronisées, bases de données harmonisées, etc. Hachette apporte de plus une compétence irremplaçable dans ce domaine, acquise depuis cinq ans aux États-Unis, où le livre numérique est déjà une réalité incontournable.

Le prix de vente des ouvrages numériques a fait l’objet d’une attention toute particulière : il se situe entre 25 et 30 % en dessous du prix de l’édition imprimée, ce qui apparaît aujourd’hui comme un bon point d’équilibre.

Le Groupe Delcourt entend poursuivre ce développement de manière offensive et responsable, en bonne intelligence avec les auteurs, dans une volonté de convergence entre le livre imprimé et le livre numérique.

BLACK SABBATH, qui a confirmé l'année dernière l'enregistrement d’un nouvel album avec son line up originel et une tournée mondiale, est dans l’obligation de changer ses plans en raison de la bataille de Tony Iommi contre un lymphome. BLACK SABBATH effectuera donc un seul concert cet été et il aura lieu le dimanche 10 Juin au Download Festival, Royaume-Uni.

Afin de ne pas léser les promoteurs et les fans, OZZY OSBOURNE effectuera la majorité des dates prévues avec BLACK SABBATH sous le nom d’ OZZY & FRIENDS. New re-recordings plus 2 new songs for 30th year anniversary

Secretly Sabina Classen and her Holy Moses men logged themselves in 2011 into the Absurd Studio in Hamburg, to start the recordings for the “30th Anniversary - In The Power Of Now” double album. The new drummer Gerd Lücking (GiftDwarf / ex-Rebellion) took care of the drum tracks on the new record. The album will have new versions of 20 of the most important songs of the 30 years of Holy Moses history plus 2 brandnew songs.
The band got together in late summer 1980 in Aachen, Germany. Despite a number of line-up changes in the course of their career, Holy Moses have distinguished themselves through a high degree of musical consistency and downright disarming physical energy. They have been touring Europe regularly with thrash classics such as Finished With The Dogs, The New Machine Of Liechtenstein and World Chaos. When the international thrash scene experienced a perceptible slump in the early Nineties, Sabina Classen took time out from Holy Moses and founded Temple Of The Absurd. Based on a new lyrical and musical approach, she released two albums with her new band and reactivated Holy Moses at the beginning of the new millennium, followed by numerous shows all over the world, performances at important festivals such as the W:O:A and With Full Force, the Pusam Festival in South Korea, and the release of successful recordings such as Disorder Of The Order (2002), Strength, Power, Will, Passion (2005) and Agony Of Death (2008).

Holy Moses are alive and kicking and are set to cheat the grim reaper for years to come!

"30th Anniversary - In The Power Of Now" will be released through SPV/Steamhammer in Germany on April 20th, in Europe on April 23rd and in the USA/Canada in early May as a high class digipak with an extensive booklet feat. liner notes, rare photos and much more.

French heavy metal pioneers, NIGHTMARE have just updated a few details on their upcoming new studio album,
“The Burden Of God” that will be released worldwide through AFM Records on May 18th 2012...
This new opus was arranged, produced and mixed at Peek studios in South France by French first class producer,
Patrick Liotard who was also involved in the writings of two "special songs"... The album has been mastered in
Los Angeles (California) by Maor Appelbaum (Halford, Therion, Sepultura, Yngwie Malmsteen...).

The special guests appearing on "The Burden Of God" are Magali Luyten (Epysode, Virus 4, Beautiful Sin...) on vocals,
Jonathan Ménard (Veloce Hystoria) for the orchestral arrangments and Stéphane Buriez (Loudblast) for the growls...

Polish female-fronted traditional heavy metal act CRYSTAL VIPER will release its new album, "Crimen Excepa", in Europe on April 27. The concept effort about holy inquisition, black magic and witches, where fiction is mixed with historical facts, was produced by Bart Gabriel (SACRED STEEL, JACK STARR'S BURNING STARR).

The new song "Medicus Animarum" is available for free download now for short time.

Marta Gabriel of CRYSTAL VIPER will be special guest of the KEEP IT TRUE FESTIVAL (27 & 28.04.2012, Lauda-Konigshofen, Germany) - she will be signing the new album & free CRYSTAL VIPER posters at the GABRIEL MANAGEMENT/SKOL RECORDS booth.

"Crimen Excepta" will feature two special guests: David Bower, vocalist of HELL will appear in the title track, while VADER mainman Piotr "Peter" Wiwczarek will be heard in the cover version of the classic VADER song "Tyrani Piekiel", which will be available as the bonus track on the first, limited edition of the album. The effort's cover artwork was painted by the French artist Chris Moyen, who has previously worked with SLAYER, TRIVIUM, BEHERIT and BLASPHEMY.

Norwegian female-fronted melodic metal band TRIOSPHERE has released an official video clip for their song "Marionette". The track is taklen from the band's latest effort "The Road Less Travelled", which was unleashed two years ago.

"From the Triosphere-camp we can finally announce that we are releasing the first official video from our critically acclaimed sophomore album “The Road Less Travelled” (AFM Records). We’ve had the honor of being featured on various compilations around the world with the songs “Driven” and “Human Condition” from the album, but the choice for the first official video landed on a song on the album that we’ve considered as somewhat of a “wildcard”; a song that differs from the others, and that seems to have touched listeners in a different and exiting way. Candlelight Records is proud to announce the signing of Ukrainian Heathen Black Metal masters KHORS.

KHORS began their career in 2004 as a trio of skilled musicians already known within the Ukrainian Heathen Black Metal scene. Inspired by the spiritual ancient world of the elder ancestors, the band recorded their debut album “The Flame of Eternity’s Decline” in 2005 (released via Oriana Music in the same year). Having strengthened the band’s line-up with the addition of a rhythm guitarist, KHORS then began to play live shows.

The second album, released the following year and entitled “Cold”, had a more mid-tempo approach, in general having shifted the emphasis to melody and the atmospherics of keyboards and leads. On this second album the band departed from many of the stereotypes of black metal.

Further musical evolution saw the release of their third album, “Mysticism” – the most progressive record in the band’s discography so far, offering a cloak of atmosphere and moods to the listener, incorporating elements of dark metal. This third album saw Khors move to American label Paragon Records and the band began to receive increasing resonance in the world of underground metal.

The fourth album, “Return To Abandoned”, released in 2010, garnered further support from metal fans worldwide. Continuing the creative and ideological concept of the previous album, “Return To Abandoned” also absorbed the spirit of the earlier records as the band gained strength, spirit and wisdom from the years that had passed. The sound had become more complex, full of aggression and atmosphere.

The new album, Khors’ fifth full length, is a real revelation and definitely another milestone in the band’s creativity. The recording of “Wisdom of Centuries” was finished at the beginning of 2012. The dense sound of the album is harmoniously complemented with the addition of ethnic instruments, shrouded with a bewitching atmosphere of shamanic mysticism. This album is also the first in the band’s history to be performed in their native language.

"It has been a long and difficult way for us to finally reach this opportunity to show the world who we are and what we are stand for. We thank the Candlelight crew for giving us such an opportunity and we're really very excited to be a part of the Candlelight roster" comments the bands bassist, Khorus.

Le groupe évolue dans un registre heavy thrash qui combine des éléments rappelant Iron Maiden, Megadeth, ou encore Iced Earth.

A propos de l’album :
"Emerging From The Shadows" est sorti en France en Avril 2012 chez Brennus/Replica, c’est l’aboutissement d’une dizaine d’années de travail pour le chanteur Chris Garrel.
Le line-up s’est stabilisé depuis 2008 avec le recrutement de Denver et Geoff aux guitares, de Rado à la basse et de Nico à la batterie.

L'HISTOIRE :
Et si un jour l’homme prédateur devenait la proie, à son tour menacée d’extinction ?
Le monde sombre dans le chaos : un phénomène nouveau et inexpliqué affecte les écosystèmes de toute la planète. Le comportement des animaux est bouleversé, les espèces végétales sont frappées d’impossibles mutations alors qu’une étrange épidémie se répand, qui pourrait causer la mort de millions de personnes.
Au cœur de la forêt tropicale amazonienne, Alexandre Grant, P.-D.G. d’une société de biotechnologie américaine, rencontre Anne Cendras. Legendary German heavy metal force U.D.O. will release their new DVD „Live In Sofia” in late September. The material was filmed in Bulgaria’s capital city on the band’s “Rev-Raptor Tour”. “Live In Sofia” will be available as DVD+CD & BluRay+CD sets on September 28th.

On August 31st, Zoli Farkas and his band enter the ring again with their new album “Black Flag”. L’AUTEURE:
Lia Habel a une vingtaine d’années et vit dans l’ouest de l’État de New York. Elle est fascinée par les monstres depuis sa plus tendre enfance – avec des geeks pour parents, il fallait s’y attendre ! Sa passion pour les zombies et tout ce qui se rapporte à l’époque victorienne ont fini par la pousser à écrire New Victoria. Avant de trouver un agent, Lia a dû enchaîner les petits boulots pour s’en sortir. Aujourd’hui, l’écriture est son activité principale.
