Comment Julien Doré a plagié Herrschaft en quelques captures d'écran.

Pour sa dernière vidéo Julien Doré a choisi, tel un Tarantino de la chanson française, de s'inspirer d'éléments pop culture qu'il transcende pour arriver à sa vision. Cependant, là où le célèbre réalisateur rendait hommage à ses références, Julien Doré, lui, semble principalement les pomper sans vergogne.
Jugeons plutôt avec ces images tirées du clip du duo d'electro-metal français Herrschaft, sorti en 2015. Si le noir et blanc et les motards sont des éléments connus du cinéma depuis « La fureur de vivre », la ressemblance est ici particulièrement troublante, si l'on y substitue les sextoys par des poneys.

Que Julien Doré ait une appétence certaine pour le métal est tout à son honneur: l'on se souvient avec plaisir de son film Pop Redemption, passé au Hellfest en 2012 et dans lequel on retrouvait plusieurs figures de la scène Metal française. S'il est toujours agréable de voir son travail reconnu et honoré pour un groupe indépendant comme Herrschaft, n'oublions pas que lorsque citation il y a, c'est de l'hommage, mais lorsque c'est fait en douce, c'est du plagiat.

ZEAL & ARDOR : l'album "Devil is Fine" sortira le 24 février 2017.

Imaginez la situation suivante: un type ayant la même dégaine que le Django de Tarantino sacrifie une chèvre sur scène tout en rugissant des chants d’esclaves sur fond de riffs de guitares hurlantes… Soudain le cliquetis des chaînes lancent une rythmique ressemblant à une sorte d’invocation satanique dont les mélodies rappellent étrangement celles d’un groupe de black metal norvégien. Le responsable de ce mélange des genres se nomme : Zeal & Ardor

Son prochain album, "Devil is Fine" - disponible le 24 février prochain sur NVKA/Caroline - aborde les thèmes les plus typiques du black metal - rituels, sacrifices humains, feu et le sang – mais Zeal & Ardor a décidé de pousser ces propos blasphématoires encore un peu plus loin en les conjuguant à des paroles directement inspirées des chants spirituels repris par les esclaves lorsqu’ils travaillaient enchaînés dans les plantations... Du black metal tirant son inspiration des champs de coton des états du sud… qui aurait pu imaginer ça un jour ?

Zeal & Ardor c'est un musicien americano/suisse nommé Manuel Gagneux, qui tire son inspiration d’une approche alternative de l’histoire, résultant directement de l’association entre deux pensées :
1) la religion chrétienne a été imposée aux esclaves américains (tout comme cela avait déjà été fait en Norvège des siècles auparavant)
2) dans les années 90, le black métal s’est répandu partout dans le monde en rébellion face au monothéisme.

Dés lors que ce serait-il passé si les esclaves américains s’étaient rebellés de la même façon ? Quel aurait été le son de ces chants spirituels s’ils avaient été sataniques ?

Avec «Devil is Fine», Zeal & Ardor apporte les premiers éléments de réponse...

SPV/Steamhammer => EDENBRIDGE announce "The Great Momentum"!

The Austrian symphonic metal act Edenbridge surrounding vocalist Sabine Edelsbacher spent more than a year working on their latest album. Now guitarist/composer Lanvall has announced the release date at last: The Great Momentum will be available from 17 February 2017.

As its predecessor The Bonding (2013), The Great Momentum was also produced by Lanvall and again mixed by Karl Groom (Threshold) at his Thin Ice Studio in Surrey, England. The mastering was taken care of by Mika Jussila (Stratovarius, among others) at the renowned Finnvox Studios. Among the guests featuring on the album are vocalist Erik Martensson (Eclipse, W.E.T, Nordic Union) and the Junge Philharmonie Freistadt orchestra. In addition, Edenbridge will introduce on their upcoming release their new drummer Johannes Jungreithmeier, whose powerful drumming has contributed to the recording’s great dynamism and who is set to tour Austria and Vietnam with Edenbridge next February and March.

Jim Foster comments: "As we embarked on our second video together, my goal was to portray Abnormality's intense energy on a large scale while bringing their concept of a 'trip' into the darkness of the mind into a reality. And as always, Metal Blade is incredibly supportive in letting bands and directors see their visions through."


Abnormality's Jay Blaisdell (drums) adds: "We're excited to release our new music video for 'Cymatic Hallucinations.' Again we teamed up with Red 13 Media who delivered our previous video 'Mechanisms of Omniscience.' Overall, the song is about applying the concept of cymatics (the effects of sound & vibrational frequency on matter), to tripping hard on shrooms. Basically it's describing the trip of all trips. A hallucinogenic experience so intense that the auditory hallucinations experienced actually cause a cymatic alteration to the person's physical reality and existence, or even everyone's physical reality and existence. It's a pretty fucked up scenario. I personally have had really intense trips with both visual and auditory hallucinations. The sounds hallucinated are always indistinguishable from the real vibrational sounds. The whole concept has always intrigued me."

It is with great trepidation that I am writing these lines. Something is lurking at the stairs below and I hear its scratching shuffle coming closer. This horror began when a book arrived in a torn envelope; its sender unknown. I should have heeded the warning of its title, 'EOD - A Tale Of Dark Legacy', yet curiosity got the better of me and on opening its pages an unearthly music crept into my soul.

The sound of harsh strings filled the room, ripping and screaming yet strangely melodic in an eerie and twisted way. A male voice, raw and grinding was rasping words of evil into my ears. And rhythms were pounding mercilessly. I was terrified, but could not turn away from a majestic beauty haunting each track that seemed to rise from the bottomless abyss beneath the sea.

As their name implies, THE GREAT OLD ONES are heavily inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. Like the sinister novels and stories of the American gothic horror icon, the music of the French act delves into the forbidden, dark, haunting, and violent spheres of art. Their forthcoming third album, 'EOD - A Tale Of Dark Legacy' marks another big step in the band's fast rising career.

THE GREAT OLD ONES emerged from the old parts of the ancient Aquitanian harbour city of Bordeaux - as famed for its secrets as for its deep red wine - in the year 2009. Their first album, 'Al Azif' was recorded and mixed by Cyrille Gachet (YEAR OF NO LIGHT) and mastered by the renowned Alan Douches (MASTODON, TOMBS, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN). Mais le succès de Beth en France ne limite pas qu'à Paris. Elle parcouru l'hexagone et régalé le public de province lors de nombreux festivals et dates en tête d'affiche. EN VENDANT 52 000 PLACES EN 72 HEURES, LE FESTIVAL « DES MUSIQUES EXTRÊMES » DE CLISSON EST DÉJÀ QUASI COMPLET, CONFIRMANT AINSI SA PLACE PARMI LES LEADERS DU SPECTACLE VIVANT EN FRANCE!

«Toujours plus haut, toujours plus fort !» voilà une maxime qui sied parfaitement au HellFest, peut-être même aujourd’hui plus que n’importe quel autre jour…

Car si l’an passé le festival, qui se déroule depuis 11 ans maintenant dans la cité médiévale de Clisson (Loire Atlantique), avait défrayé la chronique en affichant complet plus de 6 mois avant l’ouverture de ses portes, pour sa prochaine édition - qui aura lieu les 16, 17 et 18 juin 2017 – le HellFest est en passe d’établir un nouveau record en écoulant l’ensemble de sa billetterie à la vitesse d’un riff de Slayer. A l’heure où vous lisez ces lignes, un peu plus de 52 000 pass 3 jours ont déjà trouvé preneur, autant dire qu’il ne reste plus que quelques jours (heures ?) aux retardataires pour sauter sur les deux derniers milliers de billets encore disponibles.

Jusqu’à présent le HellFest n’avait jamais eu à faire face à une telle demande. Cette performance prend une dimension carrément impressionnante lorsque l’on sait que ce résultat inédit pour un spectacle français a été obtenu sans annoncer un seul des quelques 160 groupes qui constitueront la prochaine affiche... C’est clair, jamais un festival hexagonal n’avait réalisé un tel exploit ! Une fois de plus le HellFest, troisième rassemblement musical le plus important de France en termes d’affluence – mais très certainement premier au niveau design avec le look « mad-maxien » de son site et de ses immenses infrastructures « enflammées » - tient à saluer la passion et la fidélité inégalable de son public. Une telle marque de confiance force le respect et décuple la motivation de l’organisation qui, semaine après semaine, mois après mois, travaille sans relâche pour améliorer le festival et pérenniser son nom.

Devant à un tel engouement, Ben Barbaud, créateur et programmateur du HellFest, ne peut s’empêcher de commenter : « Année après année, je suis de plus en plus admiratif devant l’affection du public pour notre festival. Devenu désormais un événement de renommée internationale, le HellFest doit son formidable succès à ses incroyables fans qui se reconnaissent dans la qualité et la diversité de la programmation. Restant avant tout un festival consacré aux musiques dites « extrêmes », depuis sa création le HellFest a toujours tenu à représenter tous les styles du genre allant du pur heavy metal au classic rock en passant par les courants death, thrash, black, sludge, doom, gothique, prog, indus et même punk ou hardcore. Toutes ces formes / forces métalliques seront à l’affiche de l’édition 2017 avec de très grands noms bien sûr, mais aussi des valeurs sûres, des outsiders, des revenants et des artistes émergents voire quasi inconnus. Tout ce beau monde se produira sur les 6 scènes du fest, dans un espace élargi et décoré avec le soin et la folie qui sont devenus la marque de fabrique du HellFest. Dans les neuf mois qui viennent, tout sera donc mis en œuvre pour faire de cette 12ème édition une nouvelle fête inoubliable qui comblera le public et les artistes qui y participeront.

Au fil des semaines, l’ensemble des groupes de cette cuvée 2017 seront annoncés par vagues successives, ainsi que les différentes améliorations qui vont être apportées au site. D’ici là, les fans auront rendez-vous avec le HellFest dans toute la France à l’occasion des nombreuses soirées « warm up » qui ne vont pas manquer d’être organisées localement. Un p’tit échauffement ne fera de mal à personne avant le marathon de 3 jours qui se déroulera mi-juin à Clisson.

Alors qu'ils s'apprêtent à partir en tournée avec Opeth aux USA, les Texans de THE SWORD sortiront le 23 septembre prochain un album un peu particulier, intitulé « Low Country »... Un titre choisi en totale opposition à « High Country », leur dernier album studio en date, sorti il y a un an exactement... Pourquoi un tel choix ? Tout simplement parce que « Low Country » présente les versions acoustiques de 10 chansons qui figuraient en électrique sur « High Country »... Une démarche qui peut paraître surprenante au premier abord, mais qui en fait reflète parfaitement l'esprit « roots » et « classic rock » qui anime le groupe depuis quelques maintenant.


Les excellentes critiques qui ont salué la sortie de « High Country » soulignaient la grande qualité de ses compositions (toutes signées par le guitariste/ chanteur John D. Cronise). A travers « Low Country », dépouillées de toute amplification, mais parées de nouveaux arrangements, ces mêmes chansons n'en restent pas moins bonnes, au contraire, elles révèlent d’autres charmes et dévoile un peu plus la face limite « southern rock / folk » d’un groupe qui n’a décidément pas fini de nous surprendre… Superbe !

There are great guitarists, great vocalists and great songwriters, but Monte Pittman is one of the elite few who can truly lay claim to all three titles. To assert that Pittman has had a storied career is something of an understatement. Swedish heavy metal heroes SABATON will release their new studio album, entitled »The Last Stand«, in exactly one week through Nuclear Blast. Today, the third preliminary song of the record, 'Shiroyama,' has been revealed in the form of a lyric video.

The story behind the lyrics:
It's the nature of time and history that the old ways must give in to the new ways and the modern age. The battle of Shiroyama in 1877 marks the end of an era and is the last stand of the legendary Samurai. Led by Saigo Takamori, the Samurai was down to 500 warriors at the end of the rebellion when they made their last stand on Mount Shiroyama. At the end of the battle there were only 40 samurai left. They drew their swords and plunged downhill toward the enemy positions until the last of them was mowed down.

A travers 22 titres, plus de 2 heures d'images et de musique, le célèbre guitariste américain honore « The Three Kings ».
Cette véritable célébration de l'héritage du blues a été enregistrée en 2015 au prestigieux Greek Theatre de Los Angeles. Cette date était le point culminant d'une tournée de 14 dates au cours de laquelle Joe avait décidé de rendre hommage à trois de plus grands musiciens de l'histoire du blues : Albert King, B.B. King et Freddie King.
Un show spectaculaire au cours duquel Bonamassa a repris quelques-uns des meilleurs morceaux de blues jamais composés. C’est ainsi qu’il enchaîne les standards les plus connus à des titres obscures et régale l’auditeur avec ses versions de « Born Under A Bad Sign, » « Lonesome Whistle Blues, » « Hummingbird, » « Let The Good Times Roll, » et, bien sûr, le fameux « The Thrill Is Gone » du regretté B.B. King. Lorsque l’on sait à quel point Joe était proche de ce dernier, il parait clair que le fait que son ami et mentor ne puisse pas assister à l'un de ces concerts, restera à jamais l’un des regrets du guitariste...
Lors de cette prestation Joe Bonamassa joue sur ses plus beaux modèles de guitares vintage : quatre Gibson ES, une Gibson Les Paul, une Gibson Flying V, deux nouvelles Gibson Custom Shop, deux Fender Strats et une Dan Erlewine custom Flying V nommée « Lucy, » datant de 1972. A l'origine ce bijou appartenait à Freddie King et fait désormais parti de la collection de l'acteur Steven Seagal.
Pour l'occasion Joe Bonamassa est accompagné d'un groupe de 10 musiciens : Anton Fig (batterie), Kirk Fletcher (guitare), Michael Rhodes (basse), Reese Wynans (piano, orgue Hammond), Lee Thornburg (trompette), Paulie Cerra (saxophone), Nick Lane (trombone), ainsi que 3 choristes Mahalia Barnes, Jade MacRae et Juanita Tippins.
Ce « Live at the Greek Theatre » s'inscrit dans la tradition des autres concerts de Joe a enregistrés dans les plus célèbres salles de spectacle de la planète telles que le Royal Albert Hall, le Vienna Opera House, le Radio City Music Hall, le Red Rocks Amphitheatre, ou le Beacon Theater.
Cette tournée poursuit aussi la célébration du patrimoine du blues entamée en 2014 avec la production du CD/DVD « Joe Bonamassa – Muddy Wolf at Red Rocks », un hommage à la musique de Muddy Waters et Howlin' Wolf. Une partie des bénéfices de ces concerts a été reversée à la fondation Keeping the Blues Alive, une association à but non lucratif fondée en 2011 par Bonamassa lui-même, dont l’objectif est transmettre l’héritage du blues aux jeunes générations à travers des bourses versées à des écoles de musique ou destinées à combler les lacunes de l’éducation musicale dans les écoles publiques américaines.
« Blues of Desperation » le plus récent des albums studios de Joe Bonamassa est sorti le 25 mars dernier. Ce disque a permis à JB de se hisser pour la 16ème fois (!!) à la 1ère place des charts Blues du Billboard. Il est aussi entré n°5 des ventes aux USA et s'est classé dans le Top des meilleures ventes d'albums dans 15 pays en Europe, confirmant ainsi le succès croissant de Joe Bonamassa sur la scène internationale !

Godfathers of death metal genre to release new album in 2017

Morbid Angel, the Tampa, Florida-based death metal legends, are proud and excited to announce they have signed with UDR Music for all territories exclusively outside Japan. Featuring founder-member and venerated guitar legend Trey Azagthoth plus returning long-time member bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker, Morbid Angel are delighted to be back working with people who know metal music and will ensure the band reaffirm their status as the world’s greatest death metal band.

Formed in Charlotte, North Carolina during 1984, Azagthoth played with several line-ups before joining up with David Vincent and Pete Sandoval from grindcore specialists Terrorizer, as well as Richard Brunelle. It was this line-up which recorded and released the first Morbid Angel album in 1989, Altars Of Madness, which is widely recognized as a masterpiece and one of the major cornerstones of death metal music. Their intricate yet incredibly heavy music, featuring Azagthoth’s supremely technical yet ferociously feral guitar work, has seen Morbid Angel become one of the top selling death metal bands in the world.

While there are no specific details at this moment, Azagthoth and Tucker both look forward gleefully to writing and recording Morbid Angel’s ninth studio album, to be released sometime in 2017, and to taking Morbid Angel back out on tour.

Formé à l'origine dans les années 70 par Rickey Medlocke, à travers cette nouvelle incarnation, BLACKFOOT perpétue la grande tradition du Southern Rock !

Blackfoot, le groupe de rock sudiste américain formé dans les années 1970 par l’actuel guitariste de Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rickey Medlocke, est donc de retour avec un nouveau line-up et sortira un nouvel album, « Southern Native », le 5 août prochain sur Loud & Proud Records. Il aura fallu près de deux ans à Medlocke pour composer, enregistrer et produire cette nouvelle galette.

Blackfoot a toujours été perçu comme le plus « hard rock » des groupes « sudistes », notamment grâce au succès de titres légendaires tels que « Train, Train », « Highway Song » ou « Good Morning ». En France, on se souvient aussi des glorieux concerts du groupe en 1ère partie d’Iron Maiden ou Scorpions !

En 2012, le toujours robuste Rickey Medlocke, a donc décidé de recruter un nouvel ensemble de musiciens afin de faire renaître son groupe de toujours. Basé à Jacksonville, sa ville natale, Blackfoot se compose désormais des guitaristes/chanteurs Tim Rossi et Rick Krasowski, du bassiste Brian Carpenter et du batteur Matt Anastasi. C’est ce quatuor que Medlocke a désigné pour reprendre le flambeau là où l’avait laissé dans les années 90.

Avoir Rickey qui joue de la slide et partage des parties de guitare avec nous, permet au groupe de passer un nouveau cap et d'entrer dans une nouvelle ère. Mieux que de beaux discours les meilleures preuves de ce fier héritage se retrouvent dans les morceaux qui composent « Southern Native ».

De la chanson titre en passant par « Take Me Home » et même dans « Ohio », la reprise de Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, l’on sent que la puissante identité de Blackfoot est belle est vivante. Une force ancrée dans le sud des Etats-Unis qui l'est impossible de renier et que les musiciens n’ont pas manqué de développer ces dernières années en tournant de manière incessante avant d’entrer en studio pour écrire ce nouveau chapitre de l'histoire d’un groupe mythique…

BLACK CROWN INITIATE have released the third single "Vicious Lives" off of their new album "Selves We Cannot Forgive", which comes out July 22nd. "Vicious Lives" is the last track on the album and one of the most atmospherical and dark songs the band has ever written and thus the perfect final movement for "Selves We Cannot Forgive".

Une fois n'est pas (plus...) coutume, je prends ma plume afin de m'adresser à vous très cher fans du HELLFEST ! Premièrement pour vous remercier de votre soutien et de l'attitude exemplaire que vous avez démontré durant ces 4 jours dans l'enfer de Clisson !

Une 11ème édition qui restera dans les annales et qui se sera déroulée une fois de plus de façon très sereine et respectueuse de tous !

Nous avons cru devoir revivre une édition compliquée lorsque les conditions météo se sont dégradées à quelques jours du festival. Toutes nos équipes (bénévoles, salariés et partenaires) ont du œuvrer comme jamais pour ouvrir les portes de l'enfer dans des conditions optimales. Je tiens également à tous les remercier pour leurs engagements et leurs motivations à toute épreuve qui nous ont permis de sortir des dizaines de camions embourbés dans la boue à quelques heures de l'ouverture ! A vous aussi, bénévoles, salariés ou partenaires, ce festival est le vôtre et son succès vous appartient ! UN GRAND MERCI !

Nous espérons que vous avez su apprécier les améliorations apportées au festival cette année. Nous vous avions promis des améliorations significatives sur les points noirs que vous aviez détectés l'an passé et nous avons fait du mieux possible pour répondre à vos attentes. Certains diront que nous en faisons un peu trop et que tous ces décors ne sont pas nécessaires mais je maintiens mon idée sur laquelle un festival se vit et se nourrit de toutes sortes de sentiments afin d'en faire une expérience globale et non juste une suite de concerts ! La scénographie, l'ambiance, les rencontres sont autant de choses qui participent à faire du festival un événement pas comme les autres ! Devrions-nous en avoir honte ? Devrions-nous refuser le succès populaire que rencontre le festival aujourd'hui ? Je ne le pense pas. Nos portes sont ouvertes à tous, quel que soit l’âge, le physique ou la classe sociale de chacun ! Notre festival n'a pas vocation à devenir sectaire et à n'être réservé qu'aux élites ou aux stricts "connaisseurs". Il a vocation à mettre en lumière ces cultures trop souvent ignorées des médias et trop souvent sujets aux préjugés. Je suis donc fier d'avoir su avec les quelques 4000 bénévoles et salariés, transmettre une autre image de notre passion, une image qui a amené le festival à être élu "meilleur grand festival français" 2 ans de suite !

Alors la voilà la question que certains d'entre vous se posent : Hellfest victime de son succès ? J'ai lu avec beaucoup d'attention vos divers avis qui émanent sur les différents réseaux sociaux, webzines, forums ou autres...j'y ai passé des heures afin d'essayer de comprendre au mieux le ressenti de certains car il n'y a rien de plus important que de rester en phase avec vous et de rester à votre écoute. J'ai souvent scandé le slogan "By fans for the fans" comme étendard spirituel du festival et si je prends ma plume à cet instant c'est une nouvelle fois pour vous démontrer à quel point cet événement que j'ai la chance de diriger ne perdra pas de vue cette devise !

Je tiens déjà à couper court à la rumeur qui annonce plus de 10 000 billets vendus comparés à l'édition précédente. L'an passé le festival affichait complet avec 50000 personnes par jour, auxquels il faut ajouter les bénévoles, les partenaires, les médias et les invités, soit un total de 57000 personnes en 2015. Cette année le festival aura rassemblé non pas 57000 personnes, mais 60000, soit 3000 tickets supplémentaires de vendus. Cependant, une sensation générale de "trop de monde" se dégage de vos retours.

Le public a évolué depuis la création du festival et les habitudes elles aussi changent ! Le site du festival avait été conçu autour de 6 scènes à thématiques différentes, laissant place aux gros comme aux petits artistes. La dessus nous ne changerons pas la formule, le festival continuera à vous dénicher toutes sortes d'artistes, populaires ou non, improbables ou classiques, le Hellfest ne se veut pas comme une vitrine uniquement dédiée aux artistes "à succès". Par contre force est de constater que la popularité du festival le force à devoir revoir son aménagement devant les 2 Main Stages. Jamais nous n'avions constaté une telle ferveur devant les concerts de Rammstein, Black Sabbath, Gojira ou d'autres et ce, aux détriments des autres scènes qui ont eu du mal à se remplir lorsqu'elles jouaient au même moment que ces artistes. Il faudra donc que nous organisateurs, nous nous adaptions à ces nouvelles donnes.

Nous avons également constaté des dysfonctionnements que nous n'avions pas prévus. Attente à l'entrée de la cathédrale et aux banques cashless qui elles aussi, ont fait grincer quelques dents. Il est difficile pour nous d'expliquer ce nouveau phénomène car ce ne sont pas les 3000 personnes supplémentaires qui ont amené à elles seules ces complications. Même syndrome que la pénurie d'essence ou l'attente attire l'attente ? Possible au vu de la diminution notable de l'attente dès le samedi. Quoiqu'il en soit, là aussi ces nouvelles données devront être analysées et nous essaierons d'y remédier dès l'an prochain en augmentant les points de vente et les files de palpations.

Organiser un festival de cette ampleur n'est pas chose aisée mais la remise en question est pour nous essentielle. C'est le lien qui nous lie à vous festivaliers, ce même lien qui a donné une âme à ce rendez-vous si particulier. Alors sachez-le, nous sommes tous concernés et motivés afin d'améliorer tout ce qui peut l'être. Notre association n'a pas vocation à générer du profit et chaque euro gagné grâce à vous, est un euro qui est réinjecté et réinvestit dans l'organisation du festival suivant. A l'image de ce que nous avons su réaliser pour le réaménagement de notre Warzone cette année. Soyez certains que vos retours sur le festival de cette année seront pris en compte et déboucheront sur des améliorations notables pour 2017 !

Notre motivation à vous faire passer un week end inoubliable n'est pas éteinte et l'édition 2017 vous réservera d'autres surprises. Je vous donne rendez-vous les 16,17 et 18 juin 2017 pour qu'une nouvelle fois Clisson soit la capitale du rock le temps d'un week-end ! Dans l'attente de vous revoir tous ici, je vous souhaite un bel été et ne zappez pas d'aller soutenir les autres événements tels que le Motocultor, l'Xtrem fest, Sylak, Ragnard rock, Mfest, Fall of Summer et bien d'autres, dédiés à notre passion commune et qui plus que jamais ont besoin de votre soutien !

ROTTING CHRIST are now streaming a new video in support of their latest album 'Rituals', which was released worldwide on February 12th. The clip for the track "Ἄπαγε Σατανά" ("Apage Satana") has been directed and produced by Jon Simvonis (Magnum Production Studios), who already signed responsible for the Greek's previous "Χ Ξ Σ" ("666") video.

Frontman Sakis Tolis comments on behalf of ROTTING CHRIST: "Dear friends, following a string of lyric videos specifically designed to illustrate tracks taken from 'Rituals', we are now presenting you the first official clip for our latest album. We chose to work again with the amazing Jon Simvonis, who already directed our video for the song 'Χ Ξ Σ' ('666'). The concept for this new video is based on the ritual of exorcism and connected to the idea of a soul's transition to the other side. La première édition du tremplin The Voice Of Hell powered by Hellfest Cult s’est terminée samedi soir !

Au Ferrailleur de Nantes, il était difficile d'entrer puisque, malgré la pluie, plus de 500 metalleux se sont déplacés pour venir soutenir les groupes ! Cette dernière Warm-Up avant le festival Hellfest a honoré son nom, une fois de plus !

Les trois finalistes du tremplin A.c.o.D, The Roadies Of The D - Tenacious D Tribute et Kause 4 Konflikt ont donner le meilleur d’eux-mêmes pour prouver au jury qu’ils méritaient la première place ! Des 153 groupes inscrits initialement, ces groupes ont convaincu le public et le jury que leur place se trouvait bien sur la scène du Ferrailleur !

Pour la 3ème place, The Roadies Of The D sont récompensés par 400€ de commande de merchandising Wiseband et un compte Artiste sur leur site !

Pour la 2ème place, A.c.o.D remportent 600€ de commande merchandising Wiseband et un compte Artiste sur leur site !

SUPRISE de dernière minute, AcoD est également invité par le partenaire du Hellfest, Kronembourg, à jouer sur scène lors de la Jam Session le Vendredi 17 Juin dans la zone de chalandise à Clisson !

Jim Breuer and the Loud & Rowdy premiere new video for "Old School"; new album, 'Songs From The Garage', lands on Billboard charts

Following an appearance on Howard Stern yesterday (June 7th), Jim Breuer has launched a video for "Old School", taken from Jim Breuer and the Loud & Rowdy's new album, Songs From The Garage. Staying true to the theme of the album, the video begins in Breuer's garage and shows him paying tribute to the rock legends that inspired this musical endeavor in the first place. He and his backing band work their way from practicing in a garage to playing a huge venue, with guest appearances from Ozzy Osbourne, Brian Johnson, and even Kurt Cobain. Breuer says of the track: "This song is the perfect catchy summertime Hard Rock tune for you, and it's a throwback! It's 'OLD SCHOOL'".

IMPERIUM DEKADENZ have previously disclose studio information about 'Dis Manibvs': "As for our previous record, 'Meadows of Nostalgia', we entered the Iguana Studio close to Freiburg, Germany to record the drum-tracks with engineer Christoph Brandes at the end of October 2015. This provided the foundation for our fifth studio album, before we took a break to tour with our label mates SHINING and DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT in November. After this successful ride, we immediately began to record guitars, bass, and vocals in our own studios during the following months. At the beginning of February this year, we were ready to return to Iguana Studios to create a mix together with Christoph Brandes, who refined the outcome with an amazingly dynamic mastering. Vae victis! Woe to the vanquished! IMPERIUM DEKADENZ hail from Germany's Black Forest, where the Roman Empire clashed, conquered, and finally fell against first Celtic and later Germanic tribes. Its impenetrable, murky, and mysterious fog ridden woods and harsh landscapes have given rise to a dark romanticism that even imbues the works of this band with deep roots in Nordic black metal.

IMPERIUM DEKADENZ have cultivated and advanced an atmospheric style of their own with their highly acclaimed third and fourth studio albums 'Procella Vadens' (2010) and 'Meadows of Nostalgia' (2013). The dark chasms and steep rises of the Black Forest mountains are echoed within the German duos' majestic melodies, which are contrasted by interludes of often fragile acoustic parts.

With their new full-length 'Dis Manibvs' - a title derived from antique Roman grave markers translating from Latin as "To the Spirits of the Dead" and basically meaning "In Remembrance" - IMPERIUM DEKADENZ take a surprising step in their evolution by adding an expression that is probably best compared to DEAFHEAVEN and DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT. Probably even more astonishing is how well and organically the German veterans integrate this sound with seeming ease into their already existing style, which has also been likened to WINTERFYLLETH and AGALLOCH in its more epic moments and MGŁA or WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM during harsher parts – to drop but a few suitable names.

Founded in the year 2004, IMPERIUM DEKADENZ quickly gained a dedicated following with their debut '…und die Welt ward kalt und leer' (2006) as well as its follow-up 'Dämmerung der Szenarien' (2007). Lyrically, IMPERIUM DEKADENZ clad metaphors of human transience, ashes, and shadows into an antique attire with a penchant for the Roman Empire, while declining to deal with genre typical political, religious or misanthropic themes.

Ce que l'on pensait autrefois impossible est aujourd'hui réalité.
L'histoire commence lorsque Tony HADJAT et Mike ZARIN deux membres du groupe, étaient en train d'écrire un morceaux pour le trailer d'un film. C'est la qu'ils réalisèrent qu'ils avaient créés un son qui devait vivre en dehors du cinéma. Celui-ci avait besoin d'un groupe.

Ellipse temporelle à travers les coups de téléphone et les bières : Troy VAN LEEUWEN était là. Le trio se rencontre et compose un EP, réalisant différentes versions, mais ils avaient toujours besoin d'un chanteur. A la première écoute, Troy SANDERS était transporté, il prit l'avion direction Los Angeles pour écrire et enregistrer le chant.

« Prayers For The Damned Vol 1», le 4ème album studio !SIXX: A.M. - groupe formé par Dj Ashba (guitare), James Michael (chant) et Nikki .Sixx (basse) est disponible depuis le 29 avril sur Eleven Seven Music (distribution Warner Music France).

Le 18 juin SIXX:A.M. se produira pour la 1ère fois en France dans le cadre du HellFest. Un événement qui affiche complet depuis novembre dernier (54 000 personnes par jour). Le trio confirme ainsi son ambition de porter sa musique sur scène.

La tournée mondiale a débuté le samedi 30 avril, à Jacksonville, à l’occasion du Welcome To Rockville. C'est là que SIXX:A.M. a entamé une série de festivals et de concerts en tête d’affiche à travers les Etats -Unis. En Juin, en plus du HellFest, le groupe participera à 6 autres influents festivals européens !

Après 2 albums classés dans le TOP 20 du Billboard et plusieurs hits qui ont fait la joie des FM américaines, « Prayers For The Damned » représente le disque le plus ambitieux et le plus complet que SIXX: A.M. ait réalisé à ce jour.

BEARTOOTH "Aggresive" Sortie le 03/06/2016 RED BULL RECORDS/SONY

Pendant les deux petites années qui ont suivi la confection de son premier album dans le sous-sol de son frontman Caleb Shomo, Beartooth s'est envolé vers de nouveaux sommets, cumulant plus de 10 millions de vues sur YouTube, partageant les scènes du monde entier avec Slipknot, Pierce The Veil, Bring Me The Horizon et Sleeping With Sirens,et jouant dans les festivals Reading & Leeds, Download et Vans Warped Tour. En chemin, le groupe s'est vu nominer à plusieurs prix Alternative Press et Kerrang, et a été nommé “New Artist You Need To Know” par Rolling Stone.

Pour Aggressive, Shomo s'est à nouveau enfermé dans son home studio pour écrire, enregistrer et produire les 12 titres de l'album, s'entourant encore une fois de John Feldmann (The Used, Blink-182) pour un coup de main au niveau du songwriting et engageant David Bendeth (Killswitch Engage, Paramore) pour le mix. Cinquième album studio pour HELLYEAH, le groupe formé par Chad Gray (chant), Tom Maxwell et Christian Brady (guitares), Vinnie Paul (batterie) et Kyle Sanders (basse)

Enregistré à Las Vegas, au Hideout Recording Studio de Kevin Churko (Papa Roach, Rob Zombie), « UNDEN!ALBE » confirme toutes les bonnes intentions métalliques déjà révélées par son prédécesseur, le très percutant « Blood For Blood », paru en 2014.

En plus d’une production coup de poing, Churko a également co-signé l’ensemble des titres, ce qui donne à l’ensemble une approche plus sombre, plus précise, plus concise, et plus puissante aussi. En 11 titres « UNDEN!ALBE » réflètent toujours cette rage, cette douleur et cette sauvagerie qui ont toujours hanté les compos de HELLYEAH. Reunited with producer Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Cannibal Corpse), Whitechapel has redefined who they are and what they are capable of with their new album, Mark of the Blade. Kicking off with "The Void" - which has a Slayer-esque ferocity that is perfectly suited to the band's three-guitar attack - the songs that follow all leave a distinct impression, and by the time the rich, dark melodies on "Decennium" bring the record to a close, it's impossible to deny the emotional weight brought to bear. "It's the most dynamic record we've done, in the sense that one song can be very aggressive while the next one will be softer and sentimental," guitarist Alex Wade asserts. "At this point in our career and as we grow older, we are taking a more open-minded approach to creating our music, allowing what we think sounds good to evolve naturally, rather than to just write what is expected of us."

En seulement 10 ans, le Hellfest est devenu le premier festival Metal de France et une référence incontournable sur la scène européenne, accueillant chaque année plus de 160 groupes et plus 150 000 spectateurs en 3 jours.

Cette année, Deezer et le Hellfest coproduisent pour la première fois un tremplin à portée internationale, le « Deezer Open Hell Stage ». Il permettra à 9 groupes en développement de se produire lors du célèbre festival de musiques extrêmes les 17, 18 et 19 juin 2016. Ils devront fournir 3 fichiers audio (compo originales, pas de reprise) ainsi que 2 vidéos dont au moins une prestation scénique.

With the upcoming shows, tours and releases Leaves' Eyes will introduce their new female singer: Elina Siirala, Finnish vocalist living in London. Leaves’ Eyes and former vocalist Liv Kristine will part ways for personal reasons.

Conscient de l'importance de ce concert, le groupe décide d'inviter l'équipe de Charlie Hebdo à venir s'exprimer sur scène. Un moment de grâce qui exorcise l'horreur à coup de "même pas peur". Plus qu'un simple concert Barricades Live transcende le pouvoir des guitares et témoigne que No One Is Innocent n'a jamais perdu le chemin des barricades.

ALIASES is the brainchild of SikTh guitarist Pin & Leah Woodward with the aim to push creative limits when it comes to songwriting, incorporating catchy, dynamic, emotive, brutal yet approachable metal. Ankaa, also known as Alpha Phoenicis, is the brightest star in the Phoenix constellation. ETHS are reaching for the stars again with their fourth full-length, which also bears the title 'Ankaa'. The French modern metal outfit has been a shooting star in its homeland, but now aims to shine in a new light and in a new constellation.

'Ankaa' manages to keep the essence of the band, guided by mastermind and guitarist Staif Bihl, who also produced the album. Yet with new frontwoman Rachel Aspe and other changes in the line-up there are new elements in the sound of the French act. The new album sounds more diverse and generally a touch darker. Electronic patterns find as easily a fitting place as a beautiful Arabic chant by guest vocalist Sarah Layssac (ARKAN). For this recording, SOILWORK drummer extraordinaire Dirk Verbeuren stepped in and delivered a massive yet intricate pounding.

ETHS were founded in Marseilles and rapidly managed to conquer the covers of French music magazines following the wildfire success of their EPs ‘Autopsie’ (2000) and ‘Samantha’ (2002). Debut album ‘Soma’ (2004) saw the band open for CHILDREN OF BODOM and CRADLE OF FILTH in France. With the follow-up ‘Tératologie’ (2008), ETHS demonstrated their experience and maturity grown out of playing hundreds of shows. When the time came to release third opus ‘III’, the band took their challenge abroad by releasing four English versions of the original French songs on an international edition.

Many predicted ETHS' star to be falling when charismatic frontwoman Candice left for personal reasons in 2012. Yet the gang was far from finished and scored a coup by enlisting impressive vocalist Rachel Aspe. The singer had already won broad attention, which is highlighted by over a million clicks on a clip showing her growling away at an awe struck jury at France' biggest talent show. Rachel’s vitriolic vocals fit perfectly to the pounding riff barrage of the band's modern metal style, which was demonstrated on the EP ‘Ex Umbra In Solem"’ (2014).

ETHS are not just very much alive and kicking, but as clearly demonstrated by 'Ankaa' also creatively exploring new dimensions. Only the stars are the limit!

Le 20 mai, BMG rend hommage au légendaire label allemand en lançant une série de best-of et de rééditions.

Créé à la fin des années 70 par Karl-Ulrich Walterbach, à Berlin Ouest, en pleine explosion punk, Noise Records ne va pas tarder à faire résonner partout en Europe des sons beaucoup plus métalliques…

En 1983, en réponse à la vague thrash américaine emmenée notamment par Metallica et Slayer, Noise signe plusieurs groupes qui vont marquer à jamais l’histoire du heavy metal made in Europe : Grave Digger, Hellhammer (qui deviendra Celtic Frost), Helloween, Kreator, Running Wild, Sinner ou Tankard… des groupes qui vont largement contribuer aux courants death, power et thrash metal.

D’autres noms ne vont pas tarder à venir grossir ce catalogue : Coroner, Mordred, Rage, Sabbat (avec Andy Sneap, futur producteur de renom), Voivod, puis, un peu plus tard, Gamma Ray, Skyclad, Kamelot, Conception ou Stratovarius.

En 2001, Walterbach vendra Noise Records à Sanctuary Music qui prolongera la légende en signant, entre autres, DragonForce.

Aujourd’hui, BMG, propriétaire de Sanctuary depuis 2013, a décidé de relancer le label Noise en mettant à l’honneur les grands noms de cette prestigieuse maison de disques en sortant tout d’abord, le 20 mai prochain (en distribution chez PIAS), une série de huit best-of 2CD consacrés aux groupes suivants :

THIS GIFT IS A CURSE are now streaming a sinister video clip for their ripping song "For I Am The Fire". The track is taken from the Swedes' latest acclaimed full-length 'All Hail The Swinelord', which was released worldwide 16th of October 2015.

Director and producer Ivan K. Maras comments: "Tar, the very essence of a dead tree. Like a small reminder that everything in nature is transitory. Even ancient life that aged for millennia will eventually perish within shortest of moments. The perpetual cycle of birth and death. THIS GIFT IS A CURSE brought this reminder into music for me when I witnessed them live for the first time in my home town back in 2013. As I was driving to a distant location for a shooting two years ago, I saw a very strange scenery to my right. A vast field bordered with a dark forest and a single most peculiar tree in front of it. It was dead. With white branches reaching down towards the field and the forest behind. As if it was holding on its last moments of life, stretching to the sunburnt field and reaching out for the darkness of the forest.

This scenery sparked the idea for a script that I later sent to Jonas of THIS GIFT IS A CURSE. I wanted to explore the duality of nature: Birth/Life as well as the approach to death as something that is not necessarily the end as we know it. Nature is beauty in its purest and most chaotic form, but within this merciless chaos lies a constant cycle of evolutionary repetition. Everything is part of a cycled and therefore universally immortal.

The script seemed to fit perfectly to the lyrical theme of the song. As if the song was written for it and vice versa. It is about longing for something other than the human physical 'life' and its shelling. I wanted to explore the curiosity for what lies beyond the threshold and the great void. The symbolism in the video enfolds between the femininity and beauty of mother nature, ancient life and the merciless law that it will be taken when nature demands it.

The video was then filmed near Cologne in a protected area/moorland where nature is untouched since many centuries - what dies there stays there among the roots. The oldest tree is said to be a 1000 year old oak."

Zhrine premiere third track from new album 'Unortheda'

Icelandic bringers of darkness ZHRINE are releasing the new track "Utopian Warfare" taken from their forthcoming album 'Unortheda', which will hit stores worldwide on April 8th.

Regarding the new song, ZHRINE comment: "Seductive strings lull the listener into a psychedelic mire of notes both lavish, lush, and alien, before the blitzkrieg of 'Utopian Warfare' erupts like a maelstrom of crushing death painted in layers of black, blue and blood- thus setting the tone for the aural beat-down to come."

ZHRINE are part of an extreme musical phenomenon rising from the Kópavogur area of Iceland's capital Reykjavik. Although the name is new, the band is not. Starting out under the GONE POSTAL moniker in 2007, they embraced a dark death metal approach at first. Easily winning the 2012 Wacken Metal Battle at home, the Icelanders scored very high at the famous festival itself in front of an international jury.

Darkness comes natural to the high north and black is very much present in the image of Iceland's landscapes, where volcanic ash covers large stretches of land. Winter is long and harsh with a biting cold that seeps deep into the bones. Yet it would be too simplistic to just blame nature and the surroundings on the currently fast rising black metal scene of this fiery land situated literally on the edge of the Americas and Europe.

Bands from the polar circle are making their appearance at prestigious festivals such as the Inferno in Oslo, Norway or Roadburn in the Netherlands and the impact is beginning to be felt. As often with somewhat isolated scenes developing a distinguishable handwriting, the particular darkness emerging from Iceland is drawing heavily on the French sonic pioneers DEATHSPELL OMEGA. Yet the circle encompassing groups like SVARTIDAUÐI, MISÞYRMING, SINMARA, and of course ZHRINE translates those influences into their own musical language and each group stands for an individual expression, which can be clearly distinguished from the others.

When they were still known as GONE POSTAL, the band decided to bury this name alongside their old songs in a final memorable performance at the much talked about Eistnaflug Festival. Instead the Icelanders felt the need to continue further on a path already taken. Their music has with time turned darker, more atmospheric, and filled with bleak despair. Out of this metamorphosis ZHRINE finally came into being.

Their debut album 'Unortheta' is now more than proving that the band made the right choices. This amazing piece of a newly formulated expression of black and death metal, sludge as well as other heavy and dark ingredients has all the chances to be regarded as one of the cornerstones of the burgeoning Icelandic scene. We can confidently claim that ZHRINE will be worth your time.

Drudkh reveal first track and details of split with Hades Almighty

Ukrainian black metal veterans DRUDKH are now premiering the first track taken from their new split 'One Who Talks With The Fog / Pyre Era, Black!' with legendary Norwegians HADES ALMIGHTY, which has been scheduled for release on June 3rd.

"Fiery Serpent" is based on a poem of Ukrainian writer Volodymyr Svidzins'kyi (1885-1941), who was murdered by the Soviets after years of censorship and repression.

DRUDKH are furthermore revealing their part of the artwork of 'One Who Talks With The Fog / Pyre Era, Black!', which can be viewed together with the full tracklist of the split below.

DRUDKH have chosen to release their latest creative outburst in a string of split-EPs. For their first cooperation the Ukrainian underground black metal veterans have joined forces with legendary Norwegians HADES ALMIGHTY.

Mastermind Roman Sayenko has drawn lyrical inspiration for the two tracks from the poetry of Ukrainian writer Volodymyr Svidzins'kyi (1885-1941), who was murdered by the Soviets after years of censorship and repression.

Musically the two tracks "Golden Horse" and "Fiery Serpent" rank among the finest of DRUDKH's works combining raw harshness, epic melodies and excellent songwriting skills into black metal masterpieces.

With the latest full-length 'A Furrow Cut Short', DRUDKH had continued on the dark and bleak course charted with their previous release 'Eternal Turn of the Wheel' (2012). In an ever evolving metamorphosis, DRUDKH have regularly returned to their early legacy from the Nordic Black Metal inspired debut 'Forgotten Legends' (2003) as well as the cinematic soundscapes of 'Autumn Aurora' (2004) and the traditional influences of 'The Swan Road' (2005). On 'Blood in Our Wells' (2006) progressive elements surfaced, while after the instrumental and partly acoustic 'Songs of Grief and Solitude' (2006) a sharp contrast was created by the harshly black 'Estrangement' (2007). 'Microcosmos' (2009) seemed to tie up the different strands of DRUDKH's previous releases, before embarking on a quest to more outlying progressive realms with 'Handful of Stars' (2010), which led Roman Sayenko to found OLD SILVER KEY, joined by ALCEST vocalist Neige. The band's mastermind has often penned his own lyrics, but also continuously rediscovered forgotten poets of his home country. DRUDKH still refuse any kind of interview or promotion and demand to be understood through their music alone.

Decibel Magazine inducts Fates Warning's 'Awaken The Guardian' into the "Hall of Fame"

Swedens Stoner Rockers Stonewal Noise Orchestra / S.N.O. will release a brand new studio album with the title "The Machine, The Devil & The Dope" on May 20, 2016.
The album will be released worldwide via Steamhammer / SPV.

Snicken (guitar S.N.O.) comments: "We wanted to make a pretty straight forward heavy rock album and that's what it is. Sometimes that's exactly what you need to stay sane in a world that's getting crazier by the day. It's 40 minutes of rock therapy."

(West Hollywood, CA) – The internationally renowned glam rock band Steel Panther today released “Live From Lexxi’s Mom’s Garage,” the band’s first full length film featuring a live ten song acoustic concert interspersed with comedic vignettes showcasing the band’s unmatched shenanigans and debauchery. The one hour film is now available on DVD from Steel Panther’s label, Kobalt Records, at SteelPantherRocks.com. For the uninitiated, Steel Panther was formed in 2000 and is Michael Starr (lead singer), Satchel (guitarist), Lexxi Foxx (bass) and Stix Zadinia (drums).


“Live From Lexxi’s Mom Garage is one of the best movies to ever be released in history. I know that for a fact, because Lexxi’s mom told me!” said Michael Starr. “If you like rocking out with half-naked chicks, partying all night, and killer music, then you will love this,” he added.


“Live From Lexxi’s Mom’s Garage” was taped in Los Angeles last October in front of a live audience of scantily clad woman (and one old creepy fat guy who somehow got a ticket) inside the uncharacteristically large and professionally lit garage of Ms. Foxx (Bobbie Brown), who coincidentally also happens to be the mother of Lexxi Foxx. The musical portions of the film feature the band performing acoustic versions of their most popular songs such as “Party Like Tomorrow is the End of the World” and “Community Property” as well as one new song titled, “That’s When You Came In.” Several female violin players who are “very easy on the eyes,” says Stix, are featured and play through the various hits with the band.


Between songs, the film follows the mischievousness of Steel Panther as they figure out who they can and cannot sleep with.


Steel Panther recently wrapped their ‘Well Hungover” North American headlining tour and last week announced a new UK arena tour. The UK run will fire up in Wacken, Germany at Wacken Open Air on 8/6, crisscross Europe and end at The Birmingham Barclay Card Arena on 10/19.

On February 26th, Los Angeles prog-metal outfit Redemption - featuring Nick van Dyk, Ray Alder (Fates Warning, Engine), Sean Andrews, and Chris Quirarte (as well as guitarist Bernie Versailles, who is presently on an indefinite medical hiatus) - will release their sixth full-length, The Art of Loss, via Metal Blade Records worldwide! In anticipation of its release, the band has launched a video for the album's title track online (featuring guest guitarist Chris Poland). Le quintet aime remuer le couteau dans la plaie, et les fans de WALLS OF JERICHO du monde entier attend leur nouvelle agression sonore, qu'elle soit sur scène ou sur disque ! Huit ans après The American Dream, Candace Kucsulain et ses acolytes se sont trouvé de nouveaux alliés en Napalm Records, et semblent plus impitoyables que jamais. “Parfois, dans la vie, on se perd un peu. Je sais que pour moi, c'est toujours la musique qui m'a remis sur les rails, qui m'a rappelé qui j'étais et ce que j'aimais. Il n'est jamais trop tard pour se redécouvrir. Cette expérience était un rappel : "Trouve ce que tu aimes et laisse le te tuer !”
Le groupe ajoute : “Ce disque à mis du temps à venir, on a même cru à un moment qu'il ne verrait jamais le jour... mais il arrive, alors préparez-vous !”

Si les groupes aux faux-airs "hardcore", et aux looks bien étudiés ont désormais atteint les sommets des charts pop, WALLS OF JERICHO l'a joué un peu différemment. Pendant le développement de la scène, les groupes ont préféré concentrer leurs énergies sur une musique qui se suffit à elle-même plutôt qu'à réfléchir à un nom de genre à lui donner ou une image particulière à avoir.

Quand un groupe veut être rangé dans une catégorie ou une autre, c'est qu'il commence à perdre les qualités qui rendaient sa musique si unique. King's X re-issues, 'Gretchen Goes to Nebraska' and 'Faith Hope Love', now available via Metal Blade Records; band set to kick off west coast tour this month

Progressive masters King's X recently re-issued two of their classic albums, Gretchen Goes to Nebraska (1989) and Faith Hope Love (1990), via Metal Blade Records. Both available as a double vinyl, Faith Hope Love has also been re-packaged on CD with two bonus live tracks recorded in Cleveland in 1992. King's X's second full-length, Gretchen Goes to Nebraska, is based loosely on a short story by drummer Jerry Gaskill and is considered a landmark in the band's 30+ year history. Containing many fan favorites - such as the power ballad "Summerland", plus "Mission" and "The Burning Down" - Gretchen Goes to Nebraska also features the track "Pleiades", which is credited by guitarist Ty Tabor as being the genesis of the King's X sound when he presented the demo to the other band members a few years earlier. Additionally, the album track "Over My Head" received considerable play on MTV and radio, and ultimately set the trio up for broader success on subsequent releases.


The follow-up to Gretchen Goes to Nebraska - Faith Hope Love - was released the next year in 1990 and landed in the Billboard Top 100, thus becoming the band's highest charting album at the time. Led by the radio single "It's Love", King's X also hit #6 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart - their highest chart position! To-date, Faith Hope Love is still King's X's most commercially successful album, reaching gold status in the USA.

Following a hugely successful year 2015 that saw them play to over 300.000 people
around the world in support of their latest release „Revolución“, including a week-long stint in Cuba (a first for an American Rock Band), coveted slots at major festivals, shows with Kiss, Whitesnake and Judas Priest in Europe, the US and Australia as well as their own, sold-out headline club tour through the UK and a celebrated headline show in Paris, THE DEAD DAISIES have signed an exclusive, global distribution deal with SPV Records.

The Hanover, Germany based company looks back on 35 years of experience in bringing high-quality rock music to audiences worldwide, as evidenced recently in the highly successful reissues by the Scorpions.

On top of this exciting announcement, The Dead Daisies have also been confirmed as “SPECIAL GUEST” to Musikmesse Frankfurt, Europe’s biggest Music Trade Show. The band will perform on the Center Stage of the fairgrounds every day from April 7 - April 10, 2016 as well as a club performance during the show in Frankfurt.

The Dead Daisies, the biggest new name in Classic Rock, have just recently announced the addition of Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Dio) as their new lead guitar player. He completes a powerhouse lineup that features John Corabi (Motley Crue, The Scream), Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake), Brian Tichy (Ozzy Osbourne, Foreigner) and David Lowy (Red Phoenix, Mink).

The band just began recording their new studio album with mega-producer Marti
Frederiksen (Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Buckcherry) in Nashville. They will then embark on a massive world tour in support of this, yet untitled effort.

ROTTING CHRIST have stood the test of time. 'Rituals' is an album that has obviously been written by veterans. The Greek legends inject a 27 years career, 12 albums, and more than 1.200 shows into their songwriting. With confidence and skills derived from experience, each song represents its own sonic universe. Guitarist and vocalist Sakis Tolis in collaboration with his brother Themis on drums achieve a perfect balance of amalgamating their classic and unique style of riffing and rhythm with exciting new elements sprinkled in to keep their material exciting and fresh. Carefully chosen guests are being added for better effect, not name dropping such as the spoken words of Nick Holmes (PARADISE LOST) on "A Voice Like Thunder" or SAMAEL's Vorph mesmerizingly quoting from Charles Baudelaire's "Les Fleurs Du Mal" throughout the song "Les Litanies De Satan". Goosebumps moments such as these are liberally sprinkled throughout the record, which manages the feat to sound rock solid and made out of one heavy piece as well as diverse and far ranging at the same time. The experienced is enhanced by Jens Bogren's equally clear and transparent yet also massive as well as sombre mix and mastering at his widely renowned Fascination Street Studios (AMORPHIS, BORKNAGAR, MOONSPELL, DEVIN TOWNSEND, and many more).

A mature album such as 'Rituals' comes with a history. ROTTING CHRIST were founded as early as 1987 by Sakis Tolis and his brother Themis. They started out playing death/grind, but had already turned to darker paths by the time their debut full-length ‘Thy Mighty Contract’ (1993) was unleashed. On the following seven albums covering a ten year period from 'Non Serviam' (1994) to 'Sanctus Diavolos' (2004), ROTTING CHRIST steadily refined their style by experimenting with elements from death, heavy and gothic metal without betraying their black roots. At the same time the band went from underground heroes to headliner status. Yet with the highly acclaimed 'Theogonia' (2007) the Greek stalwarts added an unmistakable native element to their sound, which gave their ninth full-length a very distinctive and individual twist. With this album, ROTTING CHRIST had fully defined their style, to be explored with later releases. Such a masterpiece can hardly be surpassed, but ROTTING CHRIST held their ground with 'AEALO' (2010). Their country’s rich ancient heritage was translated into the universal language of metal with added female choirs, ancient reed pipes as well as folkloristic melodies and rhythms. Their latest masterpiece 'KATA TON DAIMONA EAYTOY' (2013) took this musical and lyrical concept another step further, confirming ROTTING CHRIST's individual sound incorporating subtle female vocals, piano, bagpipes, horns, and other means. All of these elements are expertly combined and enhanced by excellent songwriting. Now 'Rituals' marks another step in the evolution of the Greek masters. Buckle up for a fascinating musical ride through ancient cults and mythologies evoking strong feelings and firing up imagination. Metal at its best!
