 English below Premier album pour le groupe DEVIAN, sous ce nouveau nom. Mais il ne s’agit en aucun cas de nouveaux venus sur la scène métal. Jugez plus tôt : Legion au chant (ex Marduk, ex Ophthalamia), Joinus Lundberg à la guitare (Sargathanas Reign), Tomas Nilsson à la basse et à la guitare, Emil Dragutinovic (The Legion) et Markus Lindberg à la guitare (Sargathanas Reign). Dès la prochette, morbide à souhait, représentant un torse avec un crane cornu, des ailes écailleuses, vous pouvez vous attendre à du Black Métal très sombre et malsain. Et vous ne serez pas déçu. DEVIAN renoue avec les origines du Métal avec Ninewingded Serpent. Avec un son très travaillé, le groupe nous assène un Métal redoutablement efficace avec une ambiance très lourde. Le groupe a voulu s’inspirer des maîtres du style comme Slayer, Iron Maiden, Possessed, Morbid Angel, Dissection, Motörhead… Le résultat est des plus réussi. Et le tout avec une très grande cohérence. Car ils auraient pu choisir un style différent sur chaque titre, mais ce n’est pas du tout le cas. Chaque titre est le résultat des différentes sonorités dont le groupe a voulu s’inspirer. Et tant mieux, cela donne un album très sombre de la première à la dernière note, qui vous attire dans un gouffre sans fond. Je ne saurai quel titre vous conseiller, car ils sont tous aussi bon les uns que les autres. Devian ne pourra que se faire remarquer avec Ninewingded Serpent. Espérons qu’ils ne changent pas de nouveau de nom pour permettre à leurs fans de les suivre sans difficulté sur cette route menant droit aux enfers. First album for the band DEVIAN, under this new name. But they are absolutely not new comers on the Metal scene. Take a look : Legion, vocals (ex marduk, ex Ophthalamia), Joinus Lundberg, guitar (Sargathanas Reign), Tomas Nilsson, bass and guitar, Emil Draguitinovic (The Legion) and Markus Lindberg, guitar ( Sargathanas Reign). As soon as you see the cover of the album, morbid as you wish (it depicts a human body with a horned skull and scaly wings), you expect somekind of Black metal, very dark and unhealthy. You won’t be disappointed. Devian takes up with metal’s origin again, with the album “Ninewingded Serpent”. With a really worked sound, the band brings a really efficient metal with a heavy atmosphere. The band wanted its songs to be inspired by metal’s masters like Slayer, Iron Maiden, Possessed, Morbid Angel, Dissection, Motorhead…The result is one of the most successful. It’s really coherent because they could have chosen a different style on each track, but no. Each song is the result of the different tones that inspired the band. And it’s a good thing. The result is a really dark album from the first note to the last one. It lures you in a no bottom abyss. I don’t know which track I should recommend, because they are, all of them, really good. DEVIAN will be noticeable with Ninewingded Serpent. Hope they don’t change their name any more, to let their fans follow them on this road which leads straight in hells. |
